    Nikon Fieldmaster scope?

    Hi all
    I have acquired a rifle with a Nikon 3-9 Fieldmaster on top. Glass is good, but I can't find info for this scope on the net. As Nikon have stopped making scopes, info on their old models seems to have disappeared as well. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes, are they suitable for 30-06 recoil? Any opinions and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

    Looks very similar to the Buckmaster, which would be fine on a 30-06 (and google says it is fine on "big calibre rifles").

    Actually it looks like the Fieldmaster might the the EU name for the Buckmaster (US name). I had a couple of Buckmasters 3-9x40s until I upgraded to Monarchs, wish I'd hung onto my Buckmasters as my rifle collection grew.

    Hi all
    Thanks for the info and views, I'll use it until it fails and then look for another. The glass is good as expected with Nikon, just wasn't sure if it was a rimfire version or not.
