To be fair, I was extremely rusty at the Toby shoot, the last time I shot past 500 was at last years Toby shoot

Even used a fair bit of ammo I loaded last year....

It was a great weekend, I was impressed Carina hit 1800, has barely shot 100 centre fire rounds previously

My take on this DF purchase is good on ‘em; if they can stop some piece of faeces bad guy(s) with a terminal solution, then that’s one less to hurt us

Considering that my Barnard 50 BMG is two to three time more accurate than my M107-A1 was, it would be a struggle to hit the 1330 yard gong with any consistency with the 107 with great ammo.....

I have shot plenty of sub half MOA groups with my Barnard & managed one 1/2 moa & a few moa groups with my M107-A1, it was very accurate for a 107.

To qualify that my Barnard is a POS compared to my 375s, the 50 is designed to "hit the Hilux" anywhere, not "hit Hiluxs wing mirror"

The M107-A1 is absolutely awesome to use & its bloody hard to argue with 10 x 50 cal rounds in the air before the first one gets there, but they are anti material, not anti personal.

The M107-A1 is the coolest semi ever, period, certainly an experience to own & shoot one, just cranking the action is an experience

I was privileged to own one & never thought it could ever happen, at the end of the day a 50 is just a very very cool toy

Some ranges get bent out of shape over muzzle brakes, but I've never seen a rifle lift up a shooting mat next to one
Identify your target beyond all doubt

Had been through all the paper work via local cop shop etc.
Told me a few months ago that he had his renewal – BUT – they still needed to check his firearms security (he is not Cat E – just your basic ex Cocky with a Deer and Possum rifle)

So – f~~k me dead if I not a lion – today the Police boat from Wellington “Lady Elizabeth IV” pulls up outside our place and a naiad rolls out its arse end with a Yamaha 60 and 2 guys come ashore and go and inspect his gun cabinet.
Then back to mother ship (who has TWO 1028hp diesel engines) and enters arse end via sophisticated system we can only dream of for boat – launch – retrieve – they head on out of Pelorus Sound.

Neighbour asked fuel usage – Cops said between 300 & 400 Lts per hour.

So I say to ex Cocky neighbour – “got some of your Tax back with that fiasco”

    Attachment 77605

Been rolled up by this machine a couple of times its massive, and it would leave the 250 on our boat for dead
It's amazing but yeah the taxes going to fuel for sure

The optics and mounts run to $20K per rifle, around 10 mags per rifle, spare barrels x2 + rifle cost in case and your pretty close to the $48,000

    That's your opion mate.
I've got a mate who shoots for nz army team and had the Aussie team here last year so have fairly good idea of what the boys can do.
This year the lead counter sniper instructor for the allied forces in Afghanistan was present.
While his unit holds the longest kill in the world he was amazed what we do in the paddock.
You should come see what some of these guys can do before judging.
