of the Later-Day Shooter
Today's report . . .
Eldx's on the left, fired from prone with bipod and bag, shot 3, 3, 4 with breathers between each lot. Sierra 150s on the right, shot from bench with front rest and bag, all 8 one after another at a steady pace (so it was pretty hot by the time it was done). Despite quite a bit of looking there are not many 8-10 shot groups shared out there on the interweb that I can find from boring old 270s, and these compare very favourably. Post yours up if you have some (or rifles in the similar power class, 3000 fpe at the muzzle) .
Yes these are very definitely MAX loads (GRT says they are a smidge under CIP max of 62,400 psi) and brass life will be short. But it will be nice to have a light rifle that will handle a bit of wind to 300M and snotty enough at 500M.
You have to be happy with that!
Unsophisticated... AF!
Yup, I'm gonna have to do something, 10 shot groups of 1.0 moa (MR exactly 0.1mil) and 0.85 moa (MR 0.79 mil) for a light snotty rifle shot with an old fart behind the butt demands it! Maybe just go hunting!
Dont do that! You will then find the inherent problem with the cartridge that us users try to hide.
They dont kill and do too much damage.![]()

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
That's nice, if anyone wants it I can facilitate picking it up for them...just trying to fend off picking it up for myself![]()
wow, that's blardy great result. The 270s I've owned Remmy SPS and Mountain rifle and Howa shot well too, maybe not as well as yours though.
145 or 150g at 3000 is holy grail ish for NZ aye.
Mates T3 270 is one of the most accurate rifles I've loaded for.
