    Opinions on a Bushnell

I have been loaned a Tactical scope. Its pretty top of the heap or was when built.
    3.5 to 21 x 50 ERS
I have stuck it on a rifle and have been surprised by its dial up and clarity. Its a bit of a beast at over a Kilo but its not a hunting rifle just a target rifle.
Anyone else using one ? and what do you think of them and what do you reckon they are worth?

Its a Mil rad version and would probably be a few years old?

Their top end models are good value for money, have a LHRS 3-12x44 and the older 2.5 -16x42. Not euro glass but very handy as hunting scope. Robust and reliable

I have the 4.5-30x56 xrs, I can spot my impacts on a target at 300 m on a niçe sunny day. Can't fault it exept the weight.

Have a look at Tactical Scopes: Field Test Results Summary & Overall Scores - PrecisionRifleBlog.com
This blog has all the guff on the Bushnell. I've seen a couple go on Trademe over the last month or so. I'm guessing that one was about 1100 and the other about 1200.

I've got a new one, see Gun Porn post today. Elite Tactical 6-24x50 FFP in MRAD with the G2DMR reticle. I love it, its got better glass than my Vortex Viper 6-24x50 PST FFP in MRAD, but the Vortex has better turrets (more positive clicks) plus illumination and zero stops which the Bushnell doesn't have.

I use it for medium range hunting (250-600+m) and can't fault it, the mechanicals are spot on calibrated, you get what you dial which is all you can ask.

Fantastic scopes, the benchmark for scopes is vortex and a Bushnell is way ahead of a vortex.
Leupold reliability with Schmidt & Bender glass

Yeah I guess my view has been tarnished by my first Bushnell banner 30 odd yrs ago, but this ERS is nothing like the bushnells of old.I was able to range something the other day using the Mil hashes. Maths gave me 2400M and then from confirmation with google earth showed the distance at 2465.

A quote from the link above in post #6
"The Bushnell Elite Tactical DMR 3.5-21×50 edged into the top 50% at #9. The value this scope provides is shocking, with it outperforming scopes that cost 6 times as much! This scope is very compact, at just 13.3” long, which is one of the shortest of this group. It had generous elevation travel, mechanical calibration was about average, and image quality was just below average. However, when you consider price, Bushnell Elite Tactical 3.5-21×50 offers the most bang for your buck when compared to any scope on this list. It’s a killer value."
So if you haven't got $4k+ to throw at a scope, and you are not a glass snob, sounds like a good option.

    They're decent mate.

Even the budget version I had was pretty good. Glass was clear but a tight eye box at full power.
I'd love to try one of those DMR scopes as a long range gong basher.

To a large extent with field target shooting what you see is what you’ve got. It needs to shoot tight and adjust back and forth repeatable and have fair to good visibility of reticle and target.

The less visible features that are so important for hunting and we rely on reputation and pay a lot for are: extreme weather proudness, ruggedness, low light performance, field of view, decades long durability and warranty.
