    Paint jobs

Sent a few rifles on here with nice paint work done. Did a 10/22 myself base layer green throw some leaves on it bout 30% covered another layer brown grass ontop bout 70% covered then grey. Came out ok but spraying has worn off, lots of tight bush use though.

What are your guys thoughts on paint jobs? Diy or get someone else to do it? Recommendations on someone to do it? Preferably chch area

I like to find my rifle if I put it down while having a brew/pee etc, so don't like the idea of camo on it

Have painted several of my guns, used house paint on some, automotive paints on some and epoxy rattle cans one others. House paint is surprisingly tough, and you can get test pots for the tiny amount you need. Automotive is pretty good too, $30 for a custom tinted rattle can if you don't have a spray gun. If you don't want wear marks your best bet is something like Cerakote I guess. I personally don't mind some scratches and wear, makes it look like I use my guns more than I actually do lol.

If you spray a good quality clearcote over whatever you decide on, it should stand up to some pretty harsh treatment.

Went with Krylon spray cans, and finished off with 5 layers of clear. Seems to take the knocks in it's stride.
I lightly sanded and degreased the stock before spraying the base coats, so everything stuck pretty well.

The guy that does it (will have to look up name) buys the print direct from the manufacturers that make it for kuiu. So yes, royalties included in the print price
