Purchasing & posting firearm parts from the US

Hey all. I need a replacement extractor claw for a Mossberg ATR100. I can't find one here but they are pretty cheap in the U.S.:

    https://www.mossberg.com/extractor-b...ion-17126.html

I have a mate there who can help, but he knows nothing about firearms or the U.S. laws around them, so I want to give him some assurances.

He may need to order it for me as most of the U.S. websites don't let international IP addresses proceed to check out. I could probably use a .VPN, but if I can confirm he doesn't need any sort of licence to purchase, he'd be happy to do that for me.

I will need to apply for a permit to import, but does he need any sort of permit from the U.S. to send it?

    Cheers guys!

If you work it out and want to split shipping costs can I add an extractor for my 11-87 to your order?

I purchased something from these guys https://redhawkrifles.com/ who use these guys https://www.easyexport.net/ for managing international exports. It was dead simple, just uploaded my import permit. If you can find an outfit that sells what you need that uses Easy Export then it's simple.
    matagouri and paremata like this.

I’ll let you know how I get on. Because my mate’s a bit cautious about the whole thing I don’t want to make it too difficult for him, but if I can find a way to order it from this end I’d be happy to add yours in.

Thanks @Fatberg. Doesn’t look like any of their retailers sell the part I’m after, but this option will be good to know about for other stuff!

Exporting firearm parts from the US can only be done by licensed exporters, not individual US citizens, unless it's changed in the last few years. Hence why some US retailers wille export international if they are licensed to do so, and some are not.

As above, try find a shop who will export.

You could try reloading international, see if they can get the parts for you.

Yeah, it's an utter ballache if the part you are looking for is only at one outfit. I had a part lined up a while back, had the permit lined up to import, all steps in the process sorted - but the company could not find any carrier who would carry from one side of the US to the other to get it to the outfit to export it. Sounded similar to the BS we are experiencing with NZ Post and anything that smells vaguely firearms related... I literally had to give up in the end as the permit timed expired while I was trying and it all just got too damn hard.
