About LinkBacksThey are not the lightest things around but the system works very well.
If starting out new would have to be R8 over the R93 its new technology for a reason, bigger receiver, bigger locking collet, drop out mag.
But as others have said if you chop an change or want really light rifle then its not the one.
Would be better to try one if you could before you go a sell the guns that you like an might not be happy as people like them or hate them.
