Thread: rear tang screw stoping bolt from moveing freely

just got my jw103 back from the gunsmith who installed my suppressor
when I got it home and put the bolt in, it now catches on the rear tag screw
don't think its really the smiths fault just shit wood compacting a little if I back the screw off 3/4-1 turn the issue goes away

what would be the best way to fix it pillar bedding I guess? any other ideas

Grind a bit off the screw

Pillar bedding would be the best way. If you shorten the screw it will continue to further crush the wood and the angles between the front ad back screws (as well as stock tension) will affect accuracy and stability. Its easy enough to drill the holes out to the right size, epoxy in some pillars and tighten them up. They are only smaller calibres and light recoil so you wont need bedding compound. Araldite etc should suffice. The wood they use on these is usually pretty soft so they will normally benefit from bedding, be it pillar or action. Its something you can do yourself and well worth the effort plus if you do it yourself, cost is minimal.

Could you use araldite to bed part of the action? My 103 runs out of line with the stock after 3 or 4 shots. I should bed it at some stage but too lazy.

Don't forget to only tighten the screws no more than 65nm
