Only used Colin at Gun Supplies Rotorua for one job so far, but his cut, crown and thread job was tidy and well done.

The brake was only there as I was having the rifle threaded and thought it would be useful to have the thread timed to the brake to keep options open. I mentioned it after but didn't push it at the time as it works still.

Issue is now I have another barrel thats 21mm at the muzzle and the T2 needs to be full-sized to work so I'm going to have to buy another...
I'll pm you which Smith as I'm sure they will come up in this thread.
Could the chamfer not be machined back?

It will function yes but it radiused (which is stupid as it more work and looks ugly) not even a straight down to 16mm and will look ridiculous. On a 21 inch barrel. The issue is that I clearly stated and wrote and underlined not to taper the brake as I knew it was going to be destined for another rifle.

The chamfer is actually a radius that goes all the way to in line with the first port meaning to get it flush again it would have to shoulder in line with the first port which puts the muzzle in the second port of the brake or maybe between the first and second with a short threaded section.

Geez what a fuck up that is. I got one, timed it and put a small chamfer down to the barrel OD. Then refitted it to a heavier barrel, machining the chamfer off and starting again.

Was slightly annoyed and wish now I'd pushed the point. One benefit could have been I can get a bigger thread than the 9/16x24 but that just means I can't use my suppressor on the new Rifle. Oh well done now.

I’ve been fortunate to have a good run with the gunsmiths I’ve used, not that the work was particularly complicated:
-Dean Maisey; did a great job on a horrendously bad marlin rimfire trigger, as well as some other bits and pieces
-Gunworks; a bit of chopping, threading, and suppressing; good work
-DPT; not specialist gunsmiths but great at what they do (threading, suppressors etc.)

Hugh Bradley made the Bradley 22's which were apparently very good. Not many gunsmiths are at that level.

Yep down Alex way. On the way to retirement though. Makes good barrels still and does smith work.

Thanks for that. I have a EMM 332 which requires a trigger massage.
