    Rifle

Hi all my son in law is coming to the uk in April and I am giving him a rifle to bring back, it's a Brno 601 in 243, Harris bi pod 6inch, Leopold m8 , 6x42 , is this ok for general hunting in NZ or should I look to change anything.

No. It will be fine. Maybe if anything, a scope with a lower bottom end between 2.5-4

6x IMO is too high a mag for NZ bush. For fringe and tops hunting it will be sweet.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

Is your 601 an early-ish one with the flip up peep sight and set trigger? Good kit.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

    Hi.
A Brno 601 in 243 is what I call a classic NZ rifle and all NZ game will have a problem.

    Taff

The Brno is no good for NZ hunting, especially in .234 ..... you should ditch it when you arrive .... I'll do you a favour seeing your not from round here and take it off your hands if you like

    Cheers

Ishoot it has the set trigger, it's the Zkk , will swap the scope ,
P38 was thinking of giving you a BSA cf2 in 270 but as you have your heart set on a 243 will have to keep it

Mate I'd take the Brno over the BSA everyday of the week.

But then I'm a bit biased as I Love the Brno 601's.

I've owned them for over 30 years now.

My current go to deer rifle is a 1988 .308 BRNO ZKK 601.

Your BRNO .243 will stand you in good steed to hunt almost all of our Game animals.

Put the 3-9 Leppy on her and you'll be away laughing.

But if you do want to sell it I'd be keen if the price was right.

    Cheers
    Pete
