I like my Rossi Pumba but the open sights are crap plastic, I think I can get decent replacements but not cheap I think?

And the Baikal can be had in some cool calibers on special order like 9.3x64
Velocity is thrilling, but diameter does the real killing.

    +1 for the Russian

Takes apart, fits into a daypack. Built like a brick shithouse. Good accuracy.

Only thing I can fault is the trigger, pretty agricultural.

Always wanted a 45-70. Not even sure why

Rossi can shoot pretty accurately, if they function that is.

I would not recommend unless you like to tinker.

    the baikal.

their single shot rifles are accurate and have a wonderfully strong action.they are outstanding value.great guns. the 7.62 x 39 is a great gun.takes a suppressor and the ammo's cheap.

I had my barrel cut down to 18 inches, can't remember what the standard length was ? 22 or 24 inches I guess.

    Stock part is 20 inches.

If you use a scope it will stick out behind the back part of the barrel and add length. Skinner sights on mine.

I have a Rossi in 223 supressed and it is a pleasure to shoot, although I would prefer a Baikal for the fact it doesn't have the hammer hanging out the back.
