I'd agree if they were expensive, like a custom built 300blk would be, I think they're less pointless than a 300blk upper, quieter when suppressed and not as clunky. And compared to similar calibres like .308 or 7.62x39 it has a factory barrel with a high enough twist that it could be cut short and still stabilize a projectile, and can be handloaded.
What i can't understand is all of the single shot Rossi and similar 300blk's that sell for nearly the same price
