Hi Bluebaiter222, #11 is marked a Vixen L461. It was interesting comparing the three sako's we had chasing sika last week, one was called a Vixen/Hunter apparently mean't for the american market but ended up here in some numbers. The V/H has a slimmer barrel and the cheek piece has more of a monte carlo roll to it, whereas my Vixen has a straighter comb. Lovely rifles to carry and use. I'll put another photo up of my Sako Finnbear 30-06 later on. here is the small 8 that charged in to a single call and was shot at about 6 m.Name: IMGP0058.JPG

My 30-06 finnbear L61R. Wonderful thing, I just wish it would shoot straight. Forum member James Passmore had a go at shooting it and we have decided it needs a bedding job. I also think i'd enjoy shooting it more if it was suppressed, and I have a spare 30 cal suppressor in my cupboard, but I think it would be a shame to chop the open sights to get it threaded.
    First world problems, I know.

A1 in 223. Had original 223 barrel on it when I bought it moons ago but had a bit of wear, so it got fitted with a stainless MAB 1:12 barrel & ODL can. Since photo, I've had it fluted.

That sako is exactly the same as my youngest inherited from a deceased family member.
    Even the same chambouring.
I have taken the liberty to shorten it to suppress it so lost the front sight but would rather honor it by been used than have it rusting in the rifle safe!
Funny thing I have only shot with original scope and rings and ifs not good.
I have put on some optis and a high-end scope to check soon.
If not grouping I will be in the same situation as you.
Did you have someone in mind for a bedding job?

Yes, well mine used to be owned by dannyb, and from reading his load development thread on this forum for the rifle it doesn't look like he got it shooting right either.

Passmore recommended sending it up to Jaco Goosen. I would likely get him to thread it for me at the same time.

Ken Henderson stock, not sure what it weighs, has skate board grip, needs replacing I like it. Previous own did it as carbon fibre is slippery when wet.

My Sako AV Finnbear in 30-06. I put a DPT on it and it is a joy to shoot. With 180 grn SST it will easily do under .75 of MOA if I do my bit.
