There's a nice Sako A7 300 WSM on Trademe, $1100 minus scope, I was eyeing it up and still watching it but I got wind of a nice Tikka 223 possibly coming up for grabs and hopefully I've got 1st dibs...seller still undecided if she (yes, she) is gonna keep it or flog it off.

Is the Tikka a T3 or earlier?

Some of us are real snobs, A7 isn’t a proper Sako

For you especially James, I did say a fit between Sako and Tikka.

Buy a T3x, put it in a good carbon stock like a Glacier or Kroseg, add a BixnAndy trigger, some real alloy bottom metal and a metal magazine from Waters. Now you have a rifle which in my opinion is a better option compared to an off the shelf Sako, Pretty sure you will have also saved a fair amount of coin.

Or you could just put in a $20 (or whatever they cost) trigger spring

I have had McMillan, Hi-Tech, and Manners carbon stocks and the standard Tikka stock is perfectly functional as is the plastic mag unless you are running short of mag length in a 223 ...

Honestly I did try the replacement trigger spring and it is an improvement over the factory edition. But the BixnAndy Dakota takes it to the next level. No trigger collapse under the finger when the sear releases like the factory tikka with the light spring. And Oh so much crisper.
