    Scope with BDC reticle

In the process of reconfiguring my heavy barrel .308, so have moved on the 24oz 4-20 dial up scope I had on it. Now looking for a scope in the 2-10x range, as I’m limiting myself to 400yds on game. At that range I’m happy to use a hold over reticle as I’m done with dialling.
What lighter weight scope recommendations are there with a BDC type reticle? Something good to 400, maybe 450yds and is good for low light shooting. The rifle will be my all rounder, hunting in the bush, slips and across gullies in the open etc.
I guess there will be lots of recommendations for swaro glass, but unfortunately the budget doesn’t push that far.... $1k is about top end at the mo

I currently have a vortex diamondback 4-12 x44 on my 223 with bdc. They are much quicker than dialling and it works a treat out to 375 yds but i limit myself to 300 on game. Its 2nd focal plane and the windage hash marks are only on the crosshairs so for the 2nd and 3rd dropmarks its a bit of kentucky windage. Shooting verification is really important even if you use strelok in my opinion.
A cheap scope but there are a lot of good good ones in that bracket. Nikko stirling shouldnt be underestimated either.

Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 with the Velocity 600 reticle? Might be lucky and find one still in stock somewhere.

Oh wait, you said $1k? Yeah, nah.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Might be able to find a bushnell elite 4500 with the DOA 600 reticle for less than 1000 bucks. Don't think hamills tauranga have any left. they were selling them for 550

These are wonderful 'scopes with the reticle you are after and well in your budget. I have 2 of the next model up (Toric).

You will need to get an import permit but that's not the end of the world.

They are an excellent company to deal with. Outstanding in fact.

    Nikon Monarch 3 series,
    2.5 -10, 3-12 or 4-16 x 42mm
    https://www.scopeuout.co.nz/collecti...pe_riflescopes

I have x3 Monarch 3 series, 2-8x32, 4-16x42SF, 1-4x20, No problems with any of them.
Only issue I have had is that I found the recital in the 2-8x32 is a little grey and fine rather than black so harder to pickup when spotlighting. The other 2 are newer and are quite black.
