Regards the shotgun I posted pictures of your comments are all very true. In its original state it was worth zero, the barrels had separated from the ribs and it was useless.
However I was prepared to spend some money to get it useable and safe. And give it to my boy for his 30th. Whilst ringing around I got pissed of with the condescending comments “ it’s not a Purdey you know” , and “ it’ll cost more than it’s worth”.
As if I didn’t fucking know that already ??
That just hardened my resolve to get it done.
Nelson did it no questions asked and was very good to deal with throughout the whole process.
My boy now has a tidy little shotty that belonged to a Grandfather he never met.
I’ve done the same with a 1920’s Stevens .22 that I learnt to shoot with., given it to my boys wife.
