    Snider artillery carbine Mk3 value

    Hi Chaps,
Any Snider experts out there, appreciate any advise what you think this is worth ?
Snider Artillery Carbine , Mk3 , marked 1880 G.G. BONEHILL, also NZ stamped & rack number on the brass buttplate which matches the number on the barrel.
Seems in OK condition, missing couple screws from brass trigger guard, barrel/rifling looks good for age.
i assess its been taken apart in some restoration attempt as some screws are burred and looks like the metalwork has been cleaned up to remove surface rust etc, apart from that it appears to be complete
Wouldve put it on the for sale bit but as mentioned have no idea of its value,

I would value it at $750 -$1000 depending on the sales venue and the condition of the wood and bore. Its hard to tell from your picture what the condition of the timber is like.

I am interested in buying it when you firm up a price.

Hi Mate, Thanks for that reply & offer.
The wood is akin to an old 303, has a couple of rough patches on either side of the trigger mech.
I see you location says Norway, bit far for the old dealer network ?

I have family and friends in NZ. No problem to have it shipped to Chch.

I used to shoot alot with Sniders but sold them to fund other treasures.

Sounds like the wood is in honest condition. As long as it hasnt been sanded/ varnished/ or refinnished then thats what a collector is after.
