I've got a mod 7 in 260 with standard 20" barrel.

It's a pretty handy cartridge. Ive just started playing with the 130gr Berger VLD. Ive got them doing 2875fps, run the ballistics on that and you'll be quite surprised how much energy it holds out to 600 -700 yards.

I just tried ordering a model 7 in .260 to hear it won't be available until next year's production run, wanna sell it?

I have a stainless one in .308 with a cropped and threaded barrel if you feel like I need saving from it, priced very reasonably too........

The 130 LRAB ballistics looks pretty promising also.

Disaster! sneeked out to the range today to play with the .260 I just got, initial 140 VLD and Gameking loads not looking promising, allways a gamble with the standard twist rate but chanced it anyway, not interested in the 120gn offerings, I have a .25 that can beat the pants off a .260 in that weight, may wind up selling the thing or a rebarrel with an 8 twist, a heavier barrel would solve the stupid hot in 3 rounds thing too!

Try a 129/130 gn pill on top of 46 gns of RL-19. About as good as it gets in the little mod 7 carbine.
