    Stevens Favourite .22rf value

Hi Guys, have tried to attach a picture here(hopefully works) of a rifle I have been doing up over a year or two.
The stocks are all new which I made from "purple heart" & the barrel is an Anschutz .22 match barrel I had here so it shoots very well.
    Has a rear tang sight.
What do you fellas reckon its worth as I will be selling it when it is all completed ( few more coats of finish on the stock).
I really don't know what price to put on it when the time comes but I figure I will be out of pocket but it was a good little project to play with.
    Appreciate your thoughts.

    Its come up well.
I would have no clue considering the only thing original is the action but it might also be worth more as especially if it shoots well.
    Nice job

Yeah its a bit of a tricky one with something like this because it isn't original but then on the other hand it will out shoot any originals because of the quality of the barrel so I guess it just depends on what the buyer is after.
I do know that rifles that aren't accurate are real boring & the barrel that was in it would have been REAL boring! Looked like an old pipe chimney with soot included.
Anyway your feedback will give me somewhere to start.
Might run at a loss with this one but it was fun doing it.

With the originals the sights are the greatest limitation in most cases. The sights on yours would up the game. Have you retained the takedown?

Its still a take down. Didnt want to do away with that & yes the tang sight makes for a lot longer sighting plain than the open sights on the barrel would have been.
I'll do a bit more group shooting with it after its all completed. I know it shoots really well but that was done when the stock was in the rough & it wasn't particularly comfortable. Should be a bit nicer to handle now!

You might be surprised, the barrel is 19.5" long which is longer than the barrel that was in it but the new barrel is a target weight so it makes it look shorter.
I also made the forearm longer than the original to make it a bit nicer to handle & balance it a bit better with the heavier barrel.
We all have different likes though so its all good.
I wanted to make a rifle that is better balanced for offhand shooting(standing) that wouldn't drift around so much at the muzzle as I am a 3P & silhouette shooter I like rifles that are good off hand to shoot.

Wasnt planned to be in the photo but I'm not that great at cropping photos so it stayed in there.
Lady dropped it in for me to level all out & finish for her.

Thanks, this one will probably end up on trademe too I guess. Was just done as a bit of a project over a couple of years when I had a bit of spare time & felt like working on it.

well its a hell of alot nicer than a chippa little badger which would be the nearest modern equivalent..... I would like to think Muzza is still on the low side considering how nice that looks but he is probably about right.....be sure to let folk on here know if n when it is for sale.

Better still, chuck it in the for sale section here before it goes no TM.
