    Stolen .338L in Ashburton

My son who's a cop in Akl suggested I post this notification.

An SSR .338 Lapua has been stolen in Ashburton.
    Serial number SSR007

Obviously best to ring the cops if you run across it

Probably a far less risk than something they can easily get ammo for.

There were another couple of rareish guns that were stolen recently.

One was a H&K MR308 and the other was a Rem m700 in some fancy boom whizz calibre and stock, had a NF scope. I'll have a look when I get back to work. Stolen from somewhere in Auckland if I recall correctly.

The scopes would be the easiest thing for them to fence, do they even have serial numbers (I dont have anything like a Nighforce, but I have all my rifles' serial numbers recorded, and no idea if the scopes even have them)? What's a middle of the range Nightforce worth second hand? Easy money, plus they don't have to worry about being caught with a firearm and facing a separate charge for that.

To start with: I think we should be doubling (at least) burglary sentences, and a mandatory custodial sentence too. It's a massive cost to this country, and pretty much every single person I know has been a victim at least once (my parents for instance have been hit 8 times in 15 years). It does my head in the way it's treated almost like parking infringements by the courts

Id suspect the .338 will be presently used as an object to verbally wank over in front of the not too bright antisocial bros, and after a coupla tokes start planning arnie style drive bys or suchlike.
One sincerely hopes karma is particualry hungry when this clown gets the arse bite!
