    The .35 cal was used as a small game cartridge the same as the .22rf is now it is only since smokeless powder that the .22rf has taken over from the .35 as a target
    round even the Europeans used 8mm to 9.5mm black powder cartridges for target shooting/small game.
    My bad for not clarifying, the load I posted above was for the .44 Mag.
    I found that the 180 grain projectiles pushed hard were more effective than the heavier projectiles, and in my Marlin, that load would shoot 1 1/2" or better three shot groups at 100. I could usually get two holes to touch, but could never quite achieve a clover leaf. Its a hot load, and very snappy on the recoil. Factory hard/checkered butt plate would rub the skin off your shoulder.
