Hi Beetroot, I have a sturdy little Ruger HMR. I think it's a M77/17 and I supressed it last year. Standard weight barrel. I think the thing to look at is what sort of shooting do you want to do and by that I mean walking or driving/quads. They are all darn good at suppressing sound and fab for your ears and your mates ears. I got improved accuracy as well but I also did a trigger job too which was the best thing I did for accuracy. I chose an MAE stainless because I very rarely walk with it as usually on the quad and the extra weight settles nicely on target. If I was to walk a lot I would choose a Dan Hardy as they weigh nothing and a dream to clean. Keep safe in the hills!!
