Swarovski binoculars via online offshore shopping

Has anyone purchased Swarovski binoculars offshore via internet?
If so what store did you use, and was it a worthwhile exercise?
Also were the cost savings substantial enough?
    Cheers

I tried from a couple of USA retailers about 4 or 5 years ago. Neither would supply saying Swarovski forbids them selling overseas and cutting out local dealers.
Ended up buying a second hand set, very lightly used, from an individual in the USA. The cost was very reasonable.

Bought my EL Range binos off eBay.

Had them shipped to my US shipping address. Then to me here. Some years back, prior to big brother making GST payable on items bought through eBay, Amazon etc.

I saved a ton. A US shipping address is handy for all sorts….

Have since been back to factory for a new range button, so no problem with warranty.

Different world now esp with US freight having gone through the roof. The money I keep over there is damn near useless now compared to say four years ago.

Yup. JP sorted my EL’s and a Z5 that got dinged when I lent it. Only cost me the postage to him.

Is this a variation on loaning your chainsaw or your wife?
