    Swarovski DS 5-25 rangefinder scope

I have now set up two of these on rifles. They work pretty nicely although are a vey big scope and have a 40mm tube.
The way it works is miles better than the burris eliminator.
Its a very fast system for shooting. It would be a mean scope for varmint and Roos at range.
Anyone got any questions just ask. They aren’t readily available here. Only 3 have come into the country and one is in Timaru the other in Ashburton. If anyone wants to check one out I can arrange it if they are local.
They are worth $6000 so a rangefinder and scope $ combined

Can you post some pic up including looking through the scope would be great. What is the real world max distance on the unit?

The reticle is an illuminated ffp line with wind age hash marks. I ranged the top of the hill at 850m was the furthest. Shot targets at 420 and 550m and was dead on.
He is coming out tomorrow so I’ll see if I can get a pic and see how far I can range to.

I was tempted to buy one of these recently but the biggest concern I had was the risk of future compatibility. While it might be all fine and dandy coupling this to your Bluetooth phone today, will that connection still be available in 5 or 10 years from now? I'd hate to be paying so much moo-lah for something that could be so obsolete in the very near future.

I have no doubt they're very nice though. Would LOVE to have a play.

Watching the video I was potentially quite interested until I saw the weight specs. It's 8oz heavier than a Burris Eliminator III! And the central tube is 40mm.
I don't think these things will ever be popular (Burris included) until they make these things in a practical size at a weight that doesn't make the rifle overly top heavy.

Apparently too the optical performance is not as good as the std swaro"s according to the interwebby thing
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Optical quality I didn’t compare with another. It was pretty good as most Swarovski is. I’ve shot a rifle with a x5 and z3,5,6. I never saw any issues with the image. In a hunting scope if they are good they are usually good enough as you don’t spend much time behind them looking at the edges like you would your Binos.
They are quite a mass on a heavy recoiling rifle so they will take a pounding. Also you need some sort of cheek padding as they will sit high.
