    Talley rings/Howa height

I知 very familiar with Talley 1 inch rings / 42mm scopes and what works while still keeping the scope as low as possible , but I知 thinking of mounting a different scope 50mm objective/ 30mm tube on a Howa standard sporter profile barrel .
What height Talley痴 will work and give the lowest height / clearance with 30mm tube/50mm objective / Howa sporter barrel .

I had extra lows on my Howa 1500 308 with vortex 4-16x44 30mm tube. It was plenty close to the barrel but I couldn't get the bikini scope cover on so another 3mm of scope radius would have been contacting the barrel.

    Lows will be the go.

Are you using a factory stock.
Mine is fitted with a high tech and i had to go with high rings with my 50mm as the comb is quite high.
I have a set of 30mm high rings as i just changed scopes to a 1" tube.

That is a very good point because I will be using the new Hi-Tec stock I just bought and Id forgotten that their comb height is 5 or 6 mm higher .
My love of low scope mounting comes from the abysmally low stocks that most manufacturers use on their rifles .
I知 still in limbo as to should I mount the 30mm scope , the current 1 inch scope I知 using is smaller and lighter , why did you change to 1 inch ?
I think I値l do a bit more homework before buying

I only changed cause i had a big Delta titanium 4-24 x 50 on it which is a big scope and i wanted something smaller.
The high rings had heaps of barrel clearance and we're about perfect for comb height
