So I've owned more than a couple rifles over the years and with that bought more pairs of Talley rings than I'd care to admit
So recently when I needed a new set of rings for my Weatherby mk V I didn't hesitate to rock on down to @Gunworks to grab another set and a bunch of other shit I probably didn't need
Got the scope mounted up and though if looked a bit odd but just put it down to the front and rear surfaces of the mk v actions being offset.
It wasn't until I tried to bore site I realized something was really no right as I ran out of elevation trying to line up the crosshairs with the bore.
I had changed from Tally lows to mediums and immediately thought maybe I'd cooked up and mixed the bases up....stripped if all down and checked the serial numbers on the bases and confirmed this wasn't the case, I had indeed been sold a set of miss matched rings rear high and front medium.
Quick phonecall to gunworks and they were really helpful, they had 2 more sets on the shelf unfortunately they were also mismatched
10 mins later I got a call and gunworks had been in touch with the wholesaler who had dispatched a new set on overnight courier also confirmed the replacement had matching rings.
The upshot of this is that apparently it's not unheard of for Talleys rings be miss matched even new in sealed packaging so it pays to check (talleys are all marked on the base and you can cross reference the numbers on the Talleys website).
Big thanks to Ronell and Amanda for great service in getting this sorted![]()
