Thread: Tapped holes in receiver

    Another method much practiced in the US is to fill the hole with a screw (one that you know takes blue) of the correct thread and then gently preen the head to completely fill the hole. Correctly done this will make an invisible repair. Dave Ward used this method on an Oberndorf Mauser original sporting rifle he did up for me.

    That's what I'm hoping for, mine Is a k98 mauser full wood so hopefully something that can be done. Care to put up some pics of your fix. By any chance?
