That said the main consideration of a barrel threaded into an action is not thread strength....
The thread pictured sure is an interesting one....looks to me like the one thread has been turned at not one but two pitches close to the same and as the pitches diverge less thread is left.
Yup that's close to what I know bout threads-60% of the thread is 90% of the strength etc.
I was thinking the same thing about the thread-it looks like it was the wrong thread pitch by maybe 1 tpi
