Whats a good tie me over scope to keep a eye out for
needs to be 3x12 X40 and have a LR rectile
thinking along the lines of a Vixen V-1 3-12x40 BDC if one was to come or a leupold 3x12 LR

Pretty sure Leupold only do a 4-12×40 unless you spend up on a vx6 and get a 2-12×42

I have 2 Vixen scopes, 3-12x mil-dot and 4-16x BDC, you are not get either sorry! Very happy for the money. Even bought the 3-12x new! Recently bought a rifle that came with a Vortex Viper 4-16x scope and its very nice, but more than twice the money. If you are not dialling (I haven't really tested the Vixen scopes for this), the Vixen is a lighter, cheaper scope with good glass.

    Define tie me over
.... The howa packages come with reasonable Nikko panimex....pretty sure there will a few of them laying around. Lots of us have a spare sitting in drawer...borrow something rather than buy a shitter you won't ever use again.

Need to send a scope away so was looking at buying a second hand scope to tie me over, At the same time rifle is getting shortened and a different thread put on. I might just have to be patient It is the middle of winter and do have a second rifle i can use

@bigbear use the other rifle. By the time you piss about sighting the 'new scope' in and figure out if it is accurate or not, you could have spent that time hunting with the other shooter....I think thats the whole point of having another gun....
