correct. if you own a Tikka, and just want to have ammo that shoots well, i'd start with the Sako ammo, as they guarantee sub Moa with it. However Tikkas tend not to be too picky with regards to ammo as far as I can tell.

our Tikka 308 (20" barrel) reliably shoots inch sized groups at 100yrds with this https://www.guncity.com/sako-308-gam...-rounds-372782

and its essentially just as expensive as all the other factory ammo.

Always had good luck with federal blue in any rifle
Remington coreloct normally goes awesome in tikkas I haven’t met a tikka yet that doesn’t like it

You can’t forget sako ammo ether…. guaranteed (by sako) moa in tikka or sako rifles

I've found a few rounds from the 50 box (that has them loose in the box) got shaken up a bit and completely deformed tips

Not sure if it made much difference, got the group in the top left, compared to the sako powerhead blade on top right. Didnt like the hornady SST 150 in the middle, which was aimed at the bottom left square

Buy the 50x packs sako 150gr ammo mate, every tikka ive tried them in it works and will get you plenty distance . and the brass is generally easy to resell too. i usually buy that ammo for my tikka too when i need factory ammo. and buy the 165gr stuff if you need a bit more range say to 600y

Mate uses sako 165 grainer in his 308. 20 inch barrel 2555 fps. Very very accurate.

Had a bit of fun at the range today.
Tried the Rem core-lokt, Fed blue box & Sako sp all in 150g.

Bugger all in it actually at 100m all three grouped well. After a bit of deliberation I decided to give the Sako the nod so put a few through the chrony......

    Average speed of 2562fps

Put the data into Strelok then back to the bench and printed dots in the centre of the 200, 300 and 410m gongs. Amazing

Nothing wrong with the short barreled .308
    Very happy !!
    Cheers All

A young guy I know was having issues with same setup, so he got a local legend to make up a pet load as factory stuff was just not doing it for him. It also turned out that the action screws were a bit loose
Rifle now shoots a 4 inch group at 400 yards with 165 gn.

Know of a dozen or so that have been set up with 150 Sako Gamehead. All of them shoot sub MOA and speeds are basically all the same. (2620-2650fps)
