Sourced lapua brass so I’m committed to the Prc for now.

Howas got the 8.5 twist which is another bonus and now drooling over a Grs hunter stock.

It would make a fairly attractive rifle for under $2k and the added weight will help keep my brain from rattling around too much.

Time will tell where this project ends up, just chipping away at one purchase at a time.

KRG don’t do howa long action chassis. Seems like a lot of companies are the same.

I’ve got a bravo for my tikka and they are they are the perfect fit for my body

The seekins ph2 sure does tick most of the boxes @Thar

I’ve timed this well it seems. Gunworks have delivered me eldms and I’ve tracked down 2225.

I put my name in the ring for the prc in the buy/sell so it’s coming together 👍

What powder is he using? I’ve got 2225 and although it’s less than ideal I’ll also give 2213 a whirl.

That dudes reported velocity with Rl33 doesn’t seem right to me..

Here’s some data for RL25. There is not really anything on any of the forums. There is also nothing in GRT.

Hornady has this as the highest velocity for the 225eldm maxing out at 2850fps.

I used Fiocchi LR primers due to availability. This may explain the results but I’m surprised to have had to go way over book max and not even get close to their speeds.

    RL25
    Lapua virgin brass
    Fiocchi LR primers
    COAL: 3.68”
    24” barrel (new)
    13C
Magneto speed ( verified with a proven load )

    73gn 2441
    73.5 2475
    74 2517
    74.5 2512
    75 2544
    75.5 2573
    76 22576
    76.5 2594
    77 2606 (book max - claimed 2850 using fed 215s)
    77.5 2630
    78 2649
    78.5 2646
    79 2693
    79.5 2718
    80 2736 - ejector stamp

I will try another powder and if need be can revisit 76.5 - 78.5 which all grouped together with a 55fps spread over 2grains. I keep telling myself I don’t need the speed but a loss of 200fps is a lot.

I would have thought magnum primers would only have assisted in consistency not velocity as Fiocchi use these in all their magnum loads.

If you never had it in the first place, is it really a loss?

Yea not really a loss just hard to except your junk is smaller than everyone else’s sometimes…

Thanks Lau Lau that’s what I was expecting to get, will be picking up some adi powder in a few weeks.

Will also try N570 if I find someone to trade with.

What rifle did you end up with?

You might get better results with 1 x fired brass as well.

In my experience the fireformed brass performs marginally better, and once the barrel has settled down you can get another 20-50 fps.

    YMMV
    Warm Barrels!
