The BSA International Mk 2 has the most positive extraction you will ever see on a .22 match rifle. The empties are ejected sharply to bounce of the shooter 5 down from you. I don't know what you would have been looking at EBF, but it wasn't one of these.
If the bore is in good condition, the accuracy will be as good as any of the current offerings, and the sights wind the right way for fullbore shooters. Unfashionable, so yes, you will pick up a good one for under $500. As value for money it should feel like stealing, considering the quality and accuracy package that they are.
