Damn good April fools! Good on them for putting a bit of effort into it, took quite a few in.

I do wonder how far away we are from something similar though, good reason to get a,.50cal

Absolutely no reason to believe it's not true/available.

Also got a good informative newsletter from Brownells today (they are one day behind on their calendar) saying they now have set up a sales division to market all items needed for the sport of falconry, including a good range of birds. Cannot see YouShop being happy handling that for me though.

It was either that spoof or the 17-50BMG wildcat one that ended ".. I'll be spending the afternoon riding my unicorn".
    The dates said it all

Accurateshooter.com usually does a good one, I remember one year they had an article about how little divets all over the surface of a bullet, like a golf ball, would make it more a aerodynamic, which is actually why they do it to golf balls.
Funnily enough, that's why the hole in the nose of a hollow point makes them tend to be more streamlined in flight; the hole spreads the air out in front so the friction from incoming air is diverted away from the sides of the bullet..... or something like that.

I believe hollow point on Smk type of bullet is just so that the center of gravity is further back as the lead core is not coming to the tip like a normal hunting bullet.
