Except for my rimfire I sight all my rifles in for 200 yards seems to be pretty standard practice, generally anything inside 250 yards is in trouble without having to worry about dialing or hold over too much, you could leave it dead on at 100 but it's not hard to work out how high it should be at 100 to be dead on at 200, then just confirm it at 200 once you have it right.
^^^ What he said, for most situations zero at 200, dial for shots past 250.
