Hand help radios when I was 18, they were the size of a small steero , about 3 kg all up, they had F all range and didnt like water, since then dive tourches, knifes, soft bait rods , jig rods ,lures and more fishing shit than you can imagine!!
The worst was a rubbish bag worrier!! The barstard looked the part came from a line of hunting parents , but was boar shy as and got lost at every oppertuninty possible. Sitting at the bottom of a fire break howling it's guts out ... would shut up while I whislted and called ... then back into song whilst I caught my breath. I still rember that barstard everytime I see a dog box.
Was last seen in the back seat of a Ford cortina, little old lady wanted a large dog ...
Nil durum volenti !!
Boyds EVO stock for the 10/22. Lovely to use at the range, very ergo and sexy lookin but a pain to lug 'round over your shoulder out in the field.
Bought a heavy barreled T3 varmint rifle but didn't really do much varminting.
Then realised my scope didn't fit the Optilocks, as it touched the heavy barrel.
Got some horrible Warne adjustable windage rings to fit the scope.
Hated the rings, hated carrying the rifle around.
Sold it for a loss of around $450 all up.
Welcome to Sako club.
yea I did this to a .22
bit wanky but turned out bloody handy then wacked a shiny silver scope on it
Lol I had a mate who owned an old petrol hilux. He put a set of 33" Maxxis on it and never drove it cuz of the guard rub. I don't think they ever touched mud once. Then he sold the truck.
Great thread!
Took one mint old Sako L61R finnbear (and I mean pristine) dropped it into a macmillian stock, shortened the barrel and whacked a can on it. This was before macmillians and cans were very common in NZ. After defiling the poor old thing I sold it for a massive loss to trade in on a CZ. I've never spoke publicly about it, still makes me cringe
Brought a lime green LJ Torana with a bonnet scoop and worked motor... OK i was young and it sounded cool. Turns out the whole floor was rusted out and covered with fibreglass! Had to weld the whole thing up at an expense of several months worth of weekends.![]()
I once bought a Holden. At least the new owner found a use for it

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
