Backcountry Ti 280ai, first impressions, she's very very nice, feels n shoulders lovely, great weight - balance & lighter that advertised @ 2209g / 4lb 13.75 oz
Now to sort a scope n do some shooting - report to follow

Wow, that’s seriously light. Very interesting to see how it shoots. Is it 24in bbl?

I purchased a Kimber Hunter in 280AI last year. I am really happy with it. It has the camo stock not the shitty brown one. Just a bit more grunt than a .270.
I am currently working up some new loads with the 140gn Sierra Gamechanger (was using 140gn SST) and my best groups to date are .3 moa for 3 shots. The SST around .75 moa...so a significant improvement.

I am doing pest control on a forestry block. I only use the Kimber 280AI along with my Kimber .260 Remington during the summer months. In the winter when the nights are longer, I use a Browning x bolt set up with night vision scope and ir torch. So consequently, I have only shot 8 deer with the .280AI so far, but all have dropped on the spot.

I would certainly recommend giving it a go, you

A mate was looking to buy one but apparently they don't have good reviews?
    The 307 weatherby look interesting..

I have suppressed one TI in 7prc, it was cut down to 20” at the request of the customer. The barrel bore was very straight when spun on the lathe despite its small profile and fluting . I really like the new shape of those carbon stocks. The action has still got that beefy looks that cries for a bigger weatherby cartridge, a nosler or a lapua.

They are about 1500 to 2k short of a full custom with ti action and cartridge of your choice.
The peak44 stock (owned by Weatherby) are excellent! Im going another on my next custom

Well disregard what "gloomy Gus" has to say, he & the "know all cyber antis" can bugger off

I have stripped - cleaned n played with my new Weatherby, mounted a scope & played some more, It is not the Weatherby of old ( remember the Mk V ultra light came out probs 25 years ago ) this thing is a completely different beast, It's very cool - mag box might be a little short ( I haven't measured it yet ) but fuk I can deal with that.

    GO WEATHERBY

    CHUR CHUR
