    Weatherby in NZ

I see Weatherby have relaunched over the last couple of years, is anyone importing them, or planning to?

Hunting and Fishing CHCH seem to be stocking them already so wouldn’t be surprised if other places have them or will shortly

They've been in NZ for a long time. Bought my Mk 5 Ultralight probably 18 years ago and while its had a few sex changes, my current build still uses the same Mk 5 action. Really strong and reliable with an almost horizontal bolt lift - 54 deg I think it is.
Pretty sure there's even a Carbon stock option with a carbon wrapped barrel now.

I bought mine from Rivers to Ranges, they can order any flavor you want as I'm sure all the other retailers can.

Nice! Had a look at a couple just browsing and they certainly look like a good platform. Maybe some time in the future I’ll look to expand the toolkit- still learning to hunt with the one rifle and it’s plenty good enough for now

Yup the Mk 5 Ultra light was years ahead of the competition ( not hundy on the exact date but must'a been mid - late 90's ) a 5.75 lb rifle was friggen awesome

Still have mine, just sitting in the safe with it's poked barrel but still loved, here in better times

I think you’re referring to the newish 307 Alpine CT’s. Watched a few reviews on them, they look very nice.

Good to see Weatherby coming into country again. I’ve got 2 Mk5 Ultralights, one in 708 the other in 284. Really rate them.

What calibre is it. I've got a Trueflight barrel in the safe that'll screw straight in

I had a Weatherby Mk5 Euro 8mmx68 left-hand action, what a machine, I should never have sold it, but I did to buy a Forbes 20B in 308
