Been gone since earlier in the year. Victim of the bean counters and some stupid Bushnell rationalisation.
Highly underrated. One of my best scopes for dollar is a Weaver Grand Slam 4-16 Varmint.
Was wanting another but left it too bloody late.

    It’s very very annoying.

ATK / Vista Outdoors acquired the Weaver brand and ran it in the same stable as Bushnell, Tasco, Millet, Simmons. Unfortunately there was a decision sometime back to brand a couple of ranges of cheap Chinese scopes as Weaver, which were crap, and totally undermined the brand as a whole which meant that excellent scopes in the Weaver Grand Slam and Super Slam ranges weren’t selling. Also there’s been a move to tacticool as we know, and neither of these ranges were sufficiently tacticooool....

The Jap made Grand Slam hunting scopes are excellent quality and way better optically and more robust than pretty all the competition in that price range. Their EBX / Ballistic-X reticles are also a perfect match for most common hunting loads in various calibers and cartridges.

I’ve recently been looking at a bunch of different hunting scopes and doing some side-by-side comparisons, Bushnell has changed their tier branding recently and I’ve got to say I am a bit disappointed with the new upper mid range offerings, which Vista have preferred over the top of the line Weavers.

    Tother way round

There may be some Nikon scopes still out there but Weaver very quickly disappeared from the shelves.
They will start to appear second hand on the likes of eBay at stupid prices.

Yes that's a shame my 6-24x42 is my favorite target/varmint scope..
I will have to grab a new one out of local stocks before they disappear.

Basically the scope version of the remington / marlin situation. Cut costs and lose quality then fall over.
To many brands under one banner and rely on numbers sold rather than quality of product and slightly lower profits.

Been hesitant of refurbing my El Paso Weaver, maybe now is the time to do it since there won't be as many Weavers around.

Bought Grandslams for a long time, best scope in it's class and even above, easily the better of the the equivalently priced Leupy, Burris and Bushnell.
If you look closely at my avatar there is a 6x24 Grandslam on the Kimber somebody stole.
