For what it's worth I love my lil Baikal in 7.62x39 as a bush gun running open sights. Admittedly it has had extensive stock re-development. Paid for itself in meat first big red down. Reminds me it needs to go for a walk soon.

Have a wee 300blk ar15 for the thick shit as well, that also seems to work

Bonus speargun because it shoots more stuff than all my other guns put together

Now I didn’t know that we were talking about spearguns 😂 what size it the wettie? I have a couple but my go to is a Rob Allen 110 roller which I’m currently converting to a double roller head mvd with an mvd inverted trigger. At the moment it can punch a hole through doggies I’m interested to see how it’s goimf to fire after. Your up spearing in North island Nick?

A pen in an aristocrats hand is more dangerous then a rifle in a hunters.

Great rifle I don’t know about the synthetic stock though don’t like the color. What kind of glass do is sitting on that bad boy? You must hand load your ammo?

It's just a double rubber 110 man. Yeah in the Bay of Plenty, mostly reef or weedline work with main targets of Snapper, dory, pink mao Mao, kingfish etc.

The 110 is perfect for this.

Have started a bit of diving out in the big kingfish/pelagic waters around white island etc so am currently looking at a blue water gun. Tossing up between a pathos 110 roller or a 130/140 Rob Allen tuna.

How do you like the roller? Been thinking I might move the missus to one, she is pretty strong but vertically challenged so uses a 90. It's a bit limited on range on the bigger offshore reefs here. Thinking a 100 roller would work

Having looked through the glass, I have to say that looking through a potato would be marginally clearer.

I do hand load for it, but have a problem getting it to register on the chrony. The grouping at 100m.........marginal.

Not what I'd hoped for, really. May put it up for sale. Disappointing.

Yeah I like the length I have a rock basher in 100 when I don’t want to damage my RA Spears pathos is a good roller a friend of my spearfishs around around the world and that’a his go to but I let him try the RA and he is currently trying to buy one. I think they work out cheaper than the Pathos and they are more customizable plus 110 roller would outshoot a 130 and have equal power as a double banded gun. Only things with rollers is how to load either a pretension shark fin or a load assist which can be a pain because you can load it and then swim off and forget it. But she should be able to get it to her liking RA come with a load assist but you can make a longer one for smaller arms. What’s the prices over in NZ was having a look and they look pretty expensive? Or I’m looking in the wrong places?

I hope that potato joke was a potshot at us Irish. Might have to take offense to that

Mighty Duck - thanks for clarifying. And thanks for the picture of your ball bags. Similar to sand bags I use for setting gun nice light alternative for bringing out in the field.

ZQLewis - 700 is a good rifle great action had one in 25-06. How do you find Nikon monarch was thinking of buying a .308 and dressing it up pretty? I have a Nikon spotting scope and rangefinder and find it’s good glass. With 225gr I’d say they wouldn’t make it far.

JoshC - nice looking rifle what magnification is the Zeiss scope? I find after burning the barrel in and I’ve set in the sights and haven’t needed to adjust. Looking guys that handloading is legal unfortunately it’s illegal in Ireland but doesn’t stop me making diy slugs for the shotgun.

dogmatix - FUDD’S? Nice rifles AR is a nice setup. What’s the stock on the Finnlight is it custom? What are you firing through your .270?
    @JONAS!

Apologies, FUDD is as being an Elmer Fudd.

Known for only using firearms for hunting purposes and usually a bolt action rifle or breakopen shotgun.
Has no interest in any type of target or competition shooting and doesn’t believe anyone else needs to own semi auto rifles or pistols.

Would gladly see those banned as long as it didn’t impact on his hunting and ability to own his bolt action.

It’s the factory standard 75 Finnlight stock, getting a bit beaten up now.
I shoot 150gn Hornady SST handloads through that and Sierra 65gn Gameking and 69gn Matchking handloads through the Sako .223.
The 6.5 Grendel shoots 123gn Hornady SSTs roll your owns.
    Welcome to Sako club.

Nope, completely forgot about the connection, but feel free to take offence if it's been a while since you climbed on the outrage bus.
