I do like the mauser actions. I want something nice and strong for the shit I hunt in. My only thoughts against that would be building one up would add up in the costs department wouldn't it?

The main trend I'm following is a lightweight stainless synthetic rifle which I'm pretty set on

No, in fact it can work out cheaper. Is it MAB in Queensland for a barrel, pick up a shot out rifle cheap and I'd be surprised if you couldn't do it for around a G.
Here, they changed their name Total Solutions Engineering - TS Engineering - Everton Hills It cost me about 1200 including smithing.

What do people think of this deal. A guy is selling a tikka t3 stainless 300 win mag with the following:
Tikka T3 Lite Stainless with Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50 in excellent condition. Fired less than 120 rounds. Comes with 2 x 3 shot magazines, sling, RCBS dies, ammo case, 80 x Remington Core Lokts and 40 x once fired brass.

Asking $1600. What does everyone reckon?

Having seen the comments on how crappy the stock material of the A7s are, I wouldnt touch one with a barge pole. Probably why their price has dropped from $2.2k to $1800...they are ruining thier own rep.

I'd certiainly always have a CZ on the list, in fact I tend to use a cz as my benchmark to judge other guns against.

Yeh I'm pretty keen on synthetic is the only thing steven.
I reckon it seems like a good deal. The Montana for $1550 is still there but for the same price with this id get a good Leopold. Down the line I'd be looking at replacing the stock anyway
