    Agreed.

    I have a severely modified Savage that ended up at 3.1kg (scoped and with a DPT can) - it is fun to carry

    And it is a long action as well, so would probably go around 3.0 kg or less in short action.

    110 action, in a factory older Savage plastic stock - the version with internal mag. used to have a 270 barrel on it, but I cut my original 7-08 factory barrel to 14, and re-profiled it to a pencil (0.625).

    Leupy VX3 3.5-10 CDS with Aluminas on top.

    Scope & caps probably 400 grams. DPT can is 200 grams, so bare rifle would be 2.5 kg

    It is nicely balanced as well. Quite a few of the ultralight rifles I've handled are seriously unbalanced.
