The standard size magnum primer gave me more performance than any of the smaller ones when looking for velocity in a long barrel 7-08 & standard length 308.

The small primer may give better consistency as lower velocities ?

I was under the impression that the advantage of the small primer was that the base of the case had more brass due to the nsmaller primer and therefore was less likely to stretch and allow higher pressures...but as the wife says I'm usually wrong!
