Thread: will a gen4 hardy 270 suppressor work for a 223

As above , can someone please confirm if a hardy 270 suppressor will be effective on a 223 cal?

Will be fine mate, will also give you the option of using it on something bigger.

oooo its a hardy, id be wary!

I share a can between my .270 and the 7.62x39mm. yours should be fine, as long as it screws on correctly, if wee gap at rear bush you could apply small amount of insulation tape if barrel needs to be fatter.

be very clear here guys, so what you are saying? - starting with a large calibre and going smaller is fine but going onto a larger calibre with a smaller calibre suppressor is a no goer, risky as hell unless the capacity is adequate for gas and exit hole is big enough. ie if the exit hole aint big enough will be a blow out!

I'm pretty sure he asked if his 270 cal supp would fit his 223, not the other way around

Thats correct smiddy, i was concerned if a larger suppressor would have the same effectiveness as a specific caliber designed one

correct and a cleaning rod down bore will give an ideal if thread is straight or not. Ive put big Spartan on wee .22lr for shits n giggles, but sure as shite wouldn't do it other way around

i use 2 suppressors for 4 calibers 7mm suppressor for 204 and 223,8mm suppressor for 300wsm and 8mmx68 looks after me and the mutes ears and reduces recoil because the suppressors have muzzle breaksin them witch in turn help with accuracy
