    @woods223 Yeah I get ya. Have to admit I do have a couple (Cough cough) safe queens.

    But with the rear of a scope cantilevered out like that a tiny knock can make a good day into a shocker.

    Ive had to set up some weird mounts before just to get it on a gun. But have also dropped and fallen on mounts
    more than I would like to admit.

    Hey GSP. Your original question upon second reading seems a little ambiguous. If you want to slide the scope forward away from your eye? If so what is to stop you from loosening the ring screws and sliding the scope forward? If further back, buy the set with a front base that looks like your current rear base and face it rearwards, and use the rear base that looks like your front base now. This will give you the clearance needed to move back. These rings and bases are known as Leupold STD rings. Whether they have an extended front or rear - RVR or RVF - can be seen on the leupold website under 2 piece scope bases.you will find them as STD rings and bases. In any event, there is a solution, further forward or further back. Cheers
