    Your go to rifle

I guess more than a handful of us have more than a couple of rifles stashed away in the safe, probably bought for the different styles of hunting etc that we do. I have quite a few that I thought I needed. So do you have a go to rifle that always seems to be the one you take out? Mine would have to be the howa mini in 6.5g, just always seems to be the one I grab for anything larger than possums

Not so much a go to as I seem to use the few rifles I have about the same amount depending on the situation and my mood, but if I could only keep one, this would be it.

    For me it's a Howa Mini 1/8" .223AI with Leupold VX-3HD 2.8-8x36 and a Nielson Sonic suppressor.
A dream to carry, accurate and just bloody well works.

I have a few to choose from but my go currently to is a Laminate stocked , Shultz & Larsen Classic in 25.06 with Z5 Swaro and ZnikiZ ballistic turret rings. It’s a little on the heavier side but I have built considerable confidence with it out to 400m ( I’m not really a long range guy)

Either Sako L461 in 222, or Czech Vz33 re-chambered to 7x57 (can you tell that I'm a bit 'old school').

Will those old fashioned calibers still kill things?

Keen to see how that goes over time. I just find it a very versatile rig.

I’m pretty sure deer born later than the year 2000 will in fact deflect such cartridges
