The main reason for A I is that there is very little common sense used nowadays
so man has invented some tool to think for him How sad

What about the Chinese open source Deep Seek which was made in 2/3 months at cost of $6m. News shed 1 trillion off US stock market. LOL.

Bloody govt departments are using it more and more. And it provides the 'customer' a very average experience. From my experience.

Digital i.d. and facial recognition tech now standard on new nz driver licences. Several govt agrncies have access.

I think your use of "average" may be misleading....I tried to call a company reently with an issue. The AI kept asking questions and after 4 or 5 questions would always loop back to the start to try again...And not one of thos 'pick a path' runs actually had any answer to any possible query that I could think of...And to make it worse, that company had no other published contact detals - no publicly available email or phone number...I found a simple solution...I took my spend elsewhere and wont return.

I had this run-around some time ago too on Aliexpress. Then I remembered seeing (somewhere) to say 'Get human'....and it worked. the AI decided then it couldn't help and it went and put a real human on the line. This was about 1 year ago...so maybe it will still work...or is AI too clever now to need a human, or maybe now there is no human?

Ive found in similar situations, that a post on their FB page gets action.

Ecsept the company I dealt with decided "Det human" was not needed....or not that I could find anywhere....

In a relatively short space of time you will not be able to take any photo/video/speach/written text at face value.

That would apply for past 10 years I think.

What AI can do is amazing but you still need to verifiy what it does.

I wanted to enhance the text on some photos so I thought I'd give AI a go at it, what it did do was overlay a similar image over mine and pronounce it done. I knew enough of the text to recognise that it was a worthless result, but if you took the result as gospel you'd be up the brown creek without a paddle.
