    Avoiding the Cattle.

We went for a look up into a block on Saturday but found a shit load of cattle and not many deer, 3 on the opposite side of the gully for a start with cattle all round, so we went back round the hill to look down the block but there was nothing about.
After that walk i thought we better have a go at the stags we knew were around and check out the other side of the gully for future reference.
We coasted our bikes down the track to the creek and then started them to go up the other side about 100m, we sidled over the hills to the area we last seen them stopping half way for a rest and strip some gear off only to look from where we had come from to see a yearling running the deer fence at the top gate in to the hunting block, bugger there goes the easy one.
Anyway we find the spot where the bigger stag was soaking up the sun but he isn't there any more but a quick scout around has his head firmly in my cross hairs.
Lined up i squeeze off and he never wakes from his slumber but then i notice a small spiker stand up 10m away from his departed mate so a quick reload and a shoulder target sees him on the deck to. 2 for 2 and back to the hut by 4 for some nearly earnt beers and rum creme shots.

    Excellent afternoon Mal. Well done
