But if the term "farting at thunder" has some relevance to NZ's efforts in reducing global emissions, after reading this article (a couple of years old) I think the term needs to be changed to "farting at the cosmos"

There are several carbon capture programs underway around the world. One that has great promise for mitigating the likes of those shocking numbers from China is capturing, compressing and liquifying CO2 and then injecting it deep underground. So far, although several plants are operating they are not sufficiently scaled to make a difference but I do imagine this is where China will be heading
