In the first picture, can anyone tell me what that series of markings on the starboard side of the C-130 represents? They look similar to the "kill" marks usually seen on combat aircraft.

That's the vents for the Dunny.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

They do appear to be vents of some kind as other C-130's have them too. Weird, in all the years I've been plane spotting I've never noticed them before!

The are Penguins to signify Antarctic landings.

Unless they've deliberately painted penguins on it but whatever feature it is - it's on all C-130:

I'm referring to the Penguins painted under the words "Royal New Zealand Airforce"

So am I. They are painted over what appears to be a vent (as per my examples in a previous post).

When I stood up close and had a look I didn't notice any vents, just penguins

The Dunny is down the back behind a shower curtain on the left hand side, halfway up the lower ramp. It's visible in one of my pic's.
You are encouraged to go for a crap before you get on the plane.
