    drought is over

Managed to get out for an evening trip to Kaikoura last night. Private farm with lots of deer. We went for a drive and got to our usual glassing point--- not a bean to be seen even in the thermal. Last trip saw around 30 deer on the face. Mate I go with is scratching his head wondering what the heck is up. Waited till dark then went for a spotlight. Picked up a fallow spiker at about 200 metres and the old swedish mauser didn't disappoint. On the way back we saw another 30- mixture of reds and fallow. Not the best photo but anyway.
